Finally getting over my nasty cold…..yay!! Been a busy few weeks….
Nathan lost his second baby tooth on Tuesday night, a few hours before his dental appointment. What timing!
Liya had her first dental visit on Wednesday. Dentist said her teeth are “beautiful”!! She grinds her teeth at night, which has caused some chipping of her front teeth. He said she will outgrow that habit, thank goodness. He also looked at her x-rays, and thinks the CWI was spot-on with the estimate of her age. He says she is truly b/t 3 and 4 years old. So I guess she’s just going to be a big girl:) Fine by me!!
Jake has a girlfriend……..yikes!! I don’t know whether to be proud or be depressed, lol!! My baby boy is almost a man…{sniff sniff}
RJ’s teacher has referred him to the gifted program!! His 2nd grade teacher had been wanting me to get the ball rolling…told me not to wait for his 3rd grade teacher to do it. But before I could do anything, she referred him! So he will be tested soon….I know he’ll make it in!!
Nathan picked up a book that was a 2nd grade reading level yesterday and read it without a hitch! That boy amazes me!!
Hubby’s 39th birthday is Tuesday. He wants an iPad. Those things aren’t cheap!!! But he’s worth it:)

Took the kids to Common Ground Park in Lakeland. SO much fun!! Liya took a 5 hour nap afterward!! Something tells me we’ll be back there again soon….

8 Months Home, and a New Year With Liya

Yesterday marked 8 months since we arrived home with Liya. Wow, 8 months! It doesn’t seem possible, but it is. I can’t remember what life was like “Pre-Liya” now! She fits in so well, it is like she was always here:)
Here are things I have learned about Miss Sassy Pants in the past 8 months:

• If she had it her way, Liya would always have food in her hand. That girl loves to walk around and eat!
• Liya has a great sense of humor, and she loves to laugh.
• Ah, mood swings! The girl can go from happy to mad to sad in under 10 seconds flat!
• She always wants to have shoes on. Even if we aren’t going anywhere all day.
• When I find a mess or a spill, Liya is always the first one to say “Not Meeee!”. Even if it WAS her;)
• She loves to inform me when her brothers do something wrong.
• Liya is a cuddler and a kisser. I love it!!
• Her brother Nathan is her best friend, and her Daddy is her hero:)
• She is the best daughter that a Mommy and Daddy could ever ask for!

Liya’s First Christmas

She started out sleepy and slow, but eventually she caught on. Once she opened her new baby doll and baby doll stroller, though, she didn’t care about anything else!

She named her new “Bao Bao” Ming Ming, which was her nickname in China. Ming Ming has not been out of her sight since we took her out of the box. What a sweet little Mama Liya is:)

The boys dove into their presents, as usual. After a whirlwind of wrapping paper, they settled in with their new favorite toys:
